Top 5 Moments You’ll Never Forget

  1. Scarlet Night: The costumes, the music, the poolside party finale. There's nothing else like it at sea.

  2. That hammock: You, your balcony, and the sound of the ocean. Instant peace.

  3. Bimini beach day: Pure bliss from the first crash of the waves to the final sip.

  4. Your spa moment: Heated marble loungers and cold plunge pools? Yes. Please.

  5. The food: From Korean BBQ to fancy tasting menus to late-night pizza... it's all included.

Day 1: Boarding in Miami — The Adventure Begins

Once you’ve made it to Terminal V at your assigned boarding time, there are attendants and guides to get you on the ship. Boarding day is your chance to explore, settle in, and start sea-zing the day (and night). Whether you’re stepping into a Sea Terrace with your hammock dreams or a cozy Solo Sea View cabin, this is where your journey truly begins.

Visit The Net on Deck 16 for a death-defying view of the waters below.

The sail-away party is not to be missed. Poolside on deck 15 is where things will kick-off the sailing.

The Galley is open, and the Dock has small bites and beverages.

For a beautiful yet more subdued sail-away, find a spot on Deck 7 aft, The Dock.

BVT Tips

  • Boarding puts you in one of the main public areas on the ship - the Roundabout on Deck 7. I recommend stopping here, taking a seat, orienting yourself, and getting your phone connected to the included Wi-Fi.

  • Once connected, this is your opportunity to book dining reservations for your trip — if you weren't able to do that 45 days prior to the sailing. You can either do that through the app or head down to Razzle Dazzle (Deck 5) and members of the restaurant team will help you.

  • Select experiences are only available to book on board, like classes with the Happenings Cast, onboard cabanas, and the infamous pub crawl with a twist, the Grog Walk.

  • After you've stopped by your cabin, watched the safety video, and checked in at your assigned muster station (all important steps prior to sail-away!), take time to wander and explore the ship. Find your favorite pool spot, peek into the eateries, and maybe even grab a drink and a quick bite at The Galley or the Dock House.

  • Change after dinner for the late-night PJ Party. I’ve seen robes, onesies, boxers and tank tops, and even some lingerie.  It’s an adults only cruise line, so (almost) anything goes!

Day 2: Sea Day — Drift Into Vacation Mode

Give yourself some time to get to know the ship and enjoy the views. Your Sea Day is all about feeling the VV Vibes and getting into relaxation (and/or party) mode for the rest of your voyage.

Now that you’ve got your bearings, it’s time to unwind. Today is all about giving in to the rhythm of the sea. Start with a lazy breakfast in bed or check out a sunrise yoga session. Then it’s all hammocks, spa robes, and salty breeze from here on out.

Go for a morning jog on The Runway (Deck 17) for epic sunrise views with water as far as the eye can see. Book a fitness or group dance class onboard for a little extra pep in your step.

As expected, the pool is where it's at on a day at sea! Get there early to stake your claim. For a break from the heat, join in Bingo with the Diva or private Karaoke.

Connect with the Foodie at two food/beverage classes: Plate, Snap, Eat and Shot for Shot. You'll learn a plating and mixology. libations and culinary creations that you get to enjoy.

Visit the spa on Deck 5 to schedule your visit to the incredible Thermal Suite. There's a dry sauna, steam room, mud room, salt room (great for allergies!), hot tubs, cold plunge pools, and heated marble benches to relax. Ohm, indeed.

BVT Tips

  • The afternoon is perfect for lounging at The Dock, people-watching by the pool, or enjoying a cocktail at On the Rocks before dinner.

  • Don’t overschedule today. Let the sea set the pace. And hey, that hammock? Use it.

Day 3: Puerto Plata — Culture, Adventure, & Scarlet Night

Today’s the day to get off the ship and dive into Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. Whether you’re chasing waterfalls, exploring the sights of the town, or tasting rum while you learn about the local flora and fauna, Puerto Plata delivers the tropical energy.

If you're looking for a more low-key day in port, there’s plenty of R&R to be had in Taino Bay (the resort area where the ship docks) where music and drinks flow by the pool. Be sure to take in the lazy river as well! Food, shopping, and drinks are an extra charge, but access to the beach, pool, and lazy river are free - and access is limited to cruise passengers only.

Zip-line and jump off cliffs at Damajuaga Falls. This very popular excursion was even a challenge on the Amazing Race!

Find a spot near the pool at Taino Bay (the resort area right off the dock). Enjoy the DJ and dance performances around the pool area.

Dominican rum is one of the best in the Caribbean - find a tour or excursion that takes you to the Macorix distillery for some tasting and shopping.

Head past the pool at Taino Bay for a little quieter vibe. The lazy river (free!) is very long and very relaxing.

Back onboard, it's time to paint the ship red—literally. It’s Scarlet Night, Virgin’s signature blowout bash. From spontaneous performances to epic outfits (red is a must!), this party turns the ship into a floating fantasyland. You don’t want to miss it.

BVT Tips

  • Scarlet Night festivities are tonight! Wear a "splash" of red (or go all out in head to toe scarlet) and dive in - Scarlet Night is about exploring and letting the night play out.

  • I recommend eating dinner early and quickly to be ready for the kickoff of Scarlet Night in the Roundabout. Stay away from longer dining experiences like The Wake, Gunbae, and the Test Kitchen.

  • Don't be late for the climactic party around the pool beginning at 10:45. Get a spot as close as you can to the pool. That is, if you aren't afraid of a little water...

Day 4: Sea Day — Recover, Recharge & Revisit

Welcome to your recovery day! Today’s mission: do as much or as little as you like. Cabana life calling? Feeling re-inspired? Sign up for a workout class or creative workshop. Still dreaming of that spa? Go again. That’s the beauty of this day—you’ve got time.

Take the Behind-The-Scenes tour to get up close with inner workings of ship life and crew spaces.

Go back to the 80s with the VHS Workout Class, make new friends, and sweat to some retro tunes. Check the line-up for the evening's party in the Manor.

Sign up for Afternoon Tea at Sip Lounge, where you'll get to enjoy signature bites and drinks.

Take a self-guided tour of the workout spaces throughout the Athletic Club. Yes, there's a see-saw.

BVT Tips

  • Try that second restaurant you’ve been eyeing. You’ll be kicking yourself if you leave the ship without having tried a few of the all-included specialty dining. (P.S. Check out our Dining on Virgin guide for deeper bites!)

  • Look for another round of bingo, hosted by a member of the Happenings Cast (usually different from the cast members from Day 2).

Day 5: Bimini — Saltwater Soul Restore

Bimini is beach club magic: this is the Bahamas, but with private island vibes like nowhere else. Whether you’re living it up poolside with the DJ's soundtrack or meditating oceanside, Bimini meets your mood.

Grab a lounger facing the turquoise waters or float the day away in the pool with a rum punch in hand. Come back onboard sun-kissed and restored.

Snorkel with Sharks at the SS Sapona Shipwreck (a Shore Thing Excursion).

Float On starts at 1pm at the pool. The Happenings Cast will lead you in good times in the sun.

All-included food will be served around noon. Be sure you try the curry chicken.

Get up early, nab a spot under an umbrella and watch the horizon.

BVT Tips

  • Towels and Wi-Fi are provided at Virgin Voyages Beach Club.

  • Beverages can be purchased using your onboard account (via the Band).

  • You can rent a golf cart from Fisherman's Village (the first stop on the tram). The island is very small, but there are other beaches and restaurants to explore. Bring cash and be prepared to haggle.

Day 6: Return to Miami — But Not Goodbye

As your floating paradise (and new home away from home) pulls back into Miami, it’s the bittersweet morning we all pretended wasn't going to happen. Pack up, enjoy one last breakfast, and say your (temporary) farewells. Chances are you've probably already secured your next voyage, but if not, get in touch and I'll help you fend off those post-sailing blues.

BVT Tips

  • Pack up the night before to leave your bags for pickup outside your cabin. Or carry off your luggage for a faster disembarkation process.

  • Remember that Ship Eats (room service) closes at 10pm on the last night of the Voyage.
