How does all-included Specialty Dining sound? Well, that’s what you’re in for when you board Virgin Voyages. All of the 20+ gourmet dining and foodie-favorite eateries onboard are included in your fare. Unlike a typical cruise line, the Virgin Voyages Lady Ships do not have a main dining room. Instead you have six Specialty Dining-quality restaurants to enjoy! There's something for everyone, from upscale Steak and Seafood to lively Korean Barbecue. And all you have to bring is your appetite.
Let’s take a closer look at Main Dining on Virgin Voyages.
The Wake
Casually upscale, steak and seafood. Serves a separate brunch menu from 9am to 1pm.
BVT Tips
Order the Salt-Crusted Dorade, if available. It's a white fish baked in a salt pocket, opened tableside and drowned in butter. I've had DREAMS about this dish.
Ask for two orders of bread - one is just not enough.
Razzle Dazzle
Vegetarian-forward and vegan-friendly restaurant, with a meat-filled "Naughty" Menu.
Serves brunch from 9am to 1pm.
Note: Scarlet Lady recently reimagined this space as the Szechuan-inspired Lucky Lotus for dinner - the brunch menu remains the same.
BVT Tips
There may be special (or secret - shh!) menu items, so ask your server.
Be adventurous! Order something you wouldn't normally get, and watch your horizons get expanded.
Brunch here is a personal favorite. Learn more about Brunch and Breakfast here.
Pink Agave
Mexican-inspired small, medium, and larger plates. The tequila bar is the largest at sea!
BVT Tips
Carnivores, order the steak! This is the best steak onboard, in my opinion.
You will need multiple orders of guacamole. Be prepared to fall in love!
Vegans and veg-friendly sailors, there’s plenty here for you to choose from.
Gunbae
Round-table Korean Barbecue with a twist - communal tables, and your servers cook for you! (Note that amid the drinking games, the multiple courses, the chopsticks, and the great conversation, like I was each time I've eaten here, you will be too busy to take any photos of the food, but trust me, it's all amazing!)
BVT Tips
Smaller parties and solo travelers will sit with other sailors.
Reserve early in the voyage if you are traveling solo or want to meet other travelers.
Extra Virgin
(Olive the) Italian classics: Fresh pasta, meats, seafoods, and even an affogato cart.
BVT Tips
Go hungry, give yourself time, and order from all sections of the menu (antipasti, primo, pasta, secondo, and dessert).
If your server doesn’t bring you the charcuterie board as you look over the menu, ask for it.
The Test Kitchen
Adventurous menus, molecular gastronomy, weird and wonderful in a laboratory-esque venue.
BVT Tips
Try the drink pairing, available as cocktails, wines, beers, or mocktails. The pairing really enhances each course.
Portions are not huge, so have a later afternoon snack at the Dock or Dock House and plan on visiting the Pizza Place afterward.
Dietary Restrictions
Vegan and vegetarian options are available at many of the eateries. While Virgin does state that its kitchens are not allergen-free, servers go out of their way to be aware of diners’ food allergies and will advise the best ways to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions.
Things to Know
For almost all sailors, dining reservations open 45 days prior to embarkation day. Rockstars and Mega Rockstars can reserve their dining 60 days prior to departure.
